The Bodega & Estancia Colome is located in the upper valley and is home to one of the world's highest vineyards which has been producing wines since 1831 and is also the oldest in Argentina. Its wine, which is mainly focused on Malbec and Torrontes is exported to over 25 countries across the world. Not only is the property home to this incredible vineyard but also features the James Turrell Museum which showcases awe-inspiring exhibitions from contemporary light and space artists. The Estancia has a total of 9 comfortable rooms, each with private balconies which allows you to sit, relax and enjoy the serenity and unique beauty that surrounds you. The property also features a restaurant, reading rooms and a small gym. In addition, you can take part in a wide selection of various outdoor activities such as hiking and tennis or opt to enjoy the pool when the sun is out.

• This estancia really is in the middle of nowhere and is accessible only by 4WD vehicles (most of the drive there is along unpaved roads). We arrived there after our stay in Cafayate and before we headed onward to Cachi. The drive is in itself a part of the attraction due to the beauty of landscapes, so we highly recommend taking the time to stop a few times along the way and just take in the natural beauty that surrounds you.
• We recommend staying at least 2 nights in Colome to not only absorb the quietness of the surroundings but also to enjoy wonderful wine and food in a magical location.
• Make sure to keep some space available in your luggage as we are certain that you will want to buy a few bottles of wine after your tastings.
