Tierra Patagonia

Tierra Patagonia is a remote retreat situated just outside of the Torres del Paine National Park and offers incredible uninterrupted views of the Torres del Paine and the glistening Lake Sarmiento. The cutting-edge architecture is a testament to Chile’s leading designers who have created an authentic space that is both luxuriously casual, warm and friendly.

There is no shortage of activities to take part in from this adventurous hotel with highlights including hiking tours, wilderness bike rides, horseback adventures and kayaking expeditions, you’re guaranteed to find the best excursions to suit your needs. Each of the understatedly decorated rooms features stunning views across the lake and towards the towering Torres del Paine in the distance.

The Uma Spa boasts an outdoor swimming pool, a jacuzzi and an indoor heated pool to treat yourself after a day of exploration. And, when you're hungry, the hotel restaurant features a delicious selection of traditional Chilean and Andean dishes that are produced sourcing only the very best local ingredients.

Our Tips

  • We stayed on this property with a 5-year old child and we got the feeling that it is a stylish property with a laid-back vibe thanks to the extremely friendly staff (from the receptionist through the waiters). There is no dress code and it seems that each and every guest immediately inherits the beautiful natural feel from the second they walk through the doors.
  • There are no TV sets and WiFi is only available in the common areas to further help you to disconnect. (don’t forget about the incredibly relaxing indoor pool at Uma Spa)
  • We shared our excursions with other adults (max. 8 per party). Guides succeeded in developing a ‘group feeling’ during the explorations with other guests. For us as a family of 3, it made the experience even more pleasant.
  • We recommend spending at least 3 nights at Tierra Patagonia. If you are combining Chilean Patagonia with the Argentine one, then start in Calafate, as this will give you time to explore the shores of Sarmiento Lake (with guanacos roaming around).
