The tour begins at the historic General San Martin Square, where you'll learn about the events that took place there. Next, you'll head to the Malvinas Soldiers Memorial and Puerto Madero Bridge, getting a glimpse of the city's military history.
Then, you'll make your way to the Ecological Reserve, a protected green space near the city center where you can admire nature and the environment. Next, you'll visit the historic La Boca neighborhood, the birthplace of tango, where you'll take a short break from biking and explore its charming streets by foot.
Finally, you'll head to San Telmo and the May Square, the site of many political events that have shaped the country's history. Get ready for an immersive and active experience that combines exercise, culture, and history.
In the morning, head to the airport to board a flight to El Calafate (flight is not included). Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to your selected hotel (early check-in is not included).
In the afternoon, visit the Glaciarium Museum. Unique and exciting this state-of-the-art museum, only six km from El Calafate, illuminates the world of ice. A large number of infographics, photographs and films explain how glaciers form, along with documentaries on continental ice expeditions and permanent exhibition on climate change.
The facilities include a café, an ice bar and an Ecoshop. The Glaciobar Branca, with capacity for 25 visitors, is the first ice bar in Argentina and the only in the country serving drinks with glacier ice. A must for an unforgettable experience below zero (the maximum stay is 20 minutes).
The museum is opened from 09:00 to 20:00 hrs. during the high season and from 11:00 to 19:00 hrs. in winter (May to August).
During this exhilarating excursion, you'll have the opportunity to experience the Perito Moreno Glacier, which is considered the landmark of the Argentine Patagonia. You'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Bajo de Las Sombras port, where you'll join a group of international tourists on a guided tour along the walkways. Along the way, you'll be able to admire the breathtaking views of the Perito Moreno Glacier from different angles. But unlike most tours that only allow you to admire the glacier from the walkways, during this experience, you will have the unique opportunity to hike on it.
After a short sail across the shore, you'll meet your guides for the mini-trekking and embark on a scenic walk along a picturesque beach. You'll then gear up with crampons to trek across the glacier. The Perito Moreno Glacier is an awe-inspiring sight to behold, a vast slab of shimmering blue ice that showcases nature's raw power. After this unforgettable experience, you'll board the boat again and head back to shore, where you'll have some time to soak in the views before returning to your hotel.
To cap off the day, you'll enjoy a small box of delicious alfajores crafted by Elisa, the founder of Alfajores Koonek.
